Why should I become an NAACP member?
Membership in the NAACP means joining the leading civil rights organization in the nation. By lending their names and their energy to the NAACP, our members stand at the forefront of change. We want you to become a part of a legacy dedicated to social justice and equality for all people. Make a difference and help educate, empower and engage our community.
How do I join? How much does it cost?
You can fill out the general membership form on www.naacp.org website and type in that you are affiliated with Unit #1120 once you've submitted your application. You also have the option of coming to one of the NAACP meetings and submitting a paper application and annual dues there. The main two types of memberships are Adult & Youth Memberships. Annual membership is $30/year or $750 for lifetime membership.. Youth membership is for folks under 21 years of age priced at $15/year with Crisis Magazine subscription, $10/year without the magazine subscription. Life memberships are also available for youth (Bronze for ages 14-20 at $400 one time, Junior for ages 0-13 at $100 one time). You also have the option of mailing a paper application and annual dues to PO Box 1233, Portland, OR 97212.
